Top 5 Red Lipsticks for Christmas time

What colour lipstick springs to mind when you think of Christmas?!

Red.

I bloody love a Red lipstick and I do tend to whip mine out a lot more around Christmas time - it just feels and looks so festive and it’s seriously glam, perfect for Christmas parties and gatherings! I’ve decided to round up my top 5 Red lipsticks, you may have tried them, you may not, but I tend to reach for these ones the most out of everything else I have or have tried!

Each of these lipsticks range from £4.50 to £18.00 so there’s something suitable for everyone and for all budgets...

First up is MAC Russian Red. You cannot go wrong with a MAC lipstick and Russian Red is probably one of MAC’s most popular lipsticks, let alone probably one of the most popular lipsticks overall. Its a lovely deep red colour with a Matte finish but not too drying either. It lasts well so it’s perfect for nights out or drinks with friends - £16.50

Next is Joan Collins Red Divine Lips - a luxury lipstick that comes in gorgeous, gold packaging and feels very luxurious. Joan Collins is a brand that I’ve tried over the year and love their lipsticks and the foundation too (review coming soon) but most people will probably skim past it. The red is a deeper red, the darkest I own but looks beautiful on. Its a semi-matte formula so glides on easier than MAC but isn’t quite a shimmer - £18.00

One of my most used Red Lipstick has to be my Loreal Colour Riche in ‘364’ - I don’t know what it is about the lipstick, colour or formula but I just love it. It’s a matte formula (you see a pattern here?) and it literally looks amazing. It stays on all day too so great for your Christmas Day Red - it withstands eating/drinking/kissing, the lot! It’s also one of the most affordable lippies of the lot however, I’m not sure you can buy this in store but Superdrug have it online - £6.99

Next up is the Gwen Stefani for Urban Decay Lipstick in ‘714’ (currently out of stock online though, sorry!). I bought this from the collection when it was first released and its such a bold, bright red! It’s a matte formula which I find a little drying but it’s great if you only need to wear a lipstick for a few hours, or, apply it with a gloss over the top to help keep your lips hydrated. I do love the packaging too - it’s the perfect size for your party bag! £16.00

And last, but definitely not least is the Liquid lipstick from Colourpop in ‘Saigon’ - a ‘super matte’ finish may put some people off but I don’t find this drying at all. It does live up to the name though and it is super! It stays all day and the pigment is insane (see picture) its the perfect addition to any lipstick lovers collection and one that will suit everyone this party season! Plus, it’s only $6.00 however, you’ll need to pay customs on top of that so I suggest picking up a few other bits too...
