I’m going to Paris!

Last week, I won Travel Supermarkets #CityBreakChallenge competition and bagged myself a 3 night stay in Paris (or Amsterdam, but Paris is what I’ve chosen) and I am so excited! I’ve already been looking at city guides, travel blogs etc to find out what the best things are to do in this amazing city! I’ve always wanted to go and now that I’m going for practically nothing makes things even better!

I’ve put together a few notes of places that I want to visit during our stay and things that I want to do but I want to know the places that you recommend I should do and think that we should visit. It’s just Me and Adam that are going so we don’t have to worry about having Millie with us which makes things 100x easier!

1) Visit the Eiffel Tower and I want to try and go at night too! It just looks so beautiful.
2) Visit The Louvre, I’ve been told that it’s absolutely incredible inside, as well as outside!
3) Arc de Triomphe is a must for a good photo opportunity but i’d also like to try and get up and inside it too to look over Paris!
4) Lock a padlock on one of the Seine bridges
5) Get a picture of Moulin Rouge and try to make it a little different from all the pictures that are taken from the same spot!
6) Museums, to name a few: Museum of Magic, Museum of Carnvial Arts, Museum of Taxidermy, Museè Grevin (Wax Museum), Le Fee Verte (Absynthe Cafe) and more.
7) Sephora, obvs and also BHV
8) Notre Dame, another well known location and fantastic place for photography.
9) Buy a ridiculously overpriced Macaroon from Laudree and maybe even try a cake (or two)
10) Go on a River cruise to see the sights from the water

It seems like 4 days is enough to do everything I want including a little shopping here and there too but what are your favourite things to do in Paris or can you recommend somewhere to get some great drinks or food?

  3. I'm sick of Paris but I like watching it from a distance, away from all the people.

  5. I'm so excited for you! I've done all of those things on your list over a few different visits (I've been 5 times now!) but it's totally do-able in 4 days. When I went with Amy we left our hostel really early and got back late but managed to fit so much in.

You need to go to Galleries La Fayette too which is like the Parisian Selfridges or Harrods. If you want cheaper macarons, McDonalds do them as well as the expensive patisseries. Make sure you have your passport on you at all times because most places are free for EU residents, just show your passport and you're in! That includes going in the Louvre, up Notre Dame, up the Arc de Triomphe and plenty of other museums.

I have loads of posts about Paris on my blog http://www.strangenessandcharm.co.uk/search/label/Paris and there's a post dedicated to food too!

I'm probably going again at Easter and I can't wait. Hope you have the best time! xx
