Moving house, Home appliances

We’ve been living in the flat now since 2011 and every year, it seems to get smaller and smaller, or we just cling on to more and more stuff. Now there’s 3 of us and Millie’s toys take up 50% of the living room, 50% of the bathroom and she doesn’t have enough room for her teddies let alone clothes in the bedroom, we need to start looking for a house. Unfortunately for us, we’re in no position at the moment to get a mortgage so we’ll continue to rent but with renting comes the purchase of all those house hold appliances, the boring stuff that you need but don’t want. I’d much rather spend £150 on new clothes than a washing machine, wouldn’t you?

One of the benefits we’ve had here at the flat is that if any of our appliances have broken, it’s the landlords duty to get them fixed so it’s saving us money in the long run but there comes a time that you wish you had your own dishwasher or fridge. Something that you know is yours! We already have a few bits: kettle, microwave, slow cooker, blender, Tassimo machine but I know that when we move out I want to get a new Microwave, one of those schmancy ones that look like you can cook a chicken in (obviously, would never advice doing that...), a Kitchen Aid - just to bake cakes all day long, a new washer/dryer just because the one in the flat now is literally on it’s last legs, literally. The door is hanging off, it’s that bad! And lastly, a Bread maker! There’s nothing better than waking up and smelling freshly baked bread - I miss that from living at home!
KitchenPanasonic VS4 Washing Machine with Steam Action - £595.00

Panasonic Breadmaker - £130.00
Panasonic Steam Combination Microwave Oven - £300-£450.00

I think that once Christmas is over and done with, we’ll definitely start looking at buying appliances to go into the house and then at least when we do look to buy our own, we’ll have everything that we need ready and waiting to go!

What did you do when you moved house? Did you buy everything in one go or buy bits before you moved?

Firmoo Glasses Review

Do you wear glasses but refuse to pay the ridiculous prices for nice looking frames? Or do you simply enjoy wearing fashion lenses? Firmoo have a range of Womens glasses, Mens glasses and sunglasses that are available in prescription or without! Based online, all you need to do to purchase a pair of glasses is first of all, pick a frame from their ever expanding collection, choose what you use the glasses for i.e. prescription or non prescription (to get prescription lenses, just call your optician and ask for your eye details) and then select delivery! You can also get your First Pair Free all you need to pay for is lens and shipping (depending on where you live, this will alter in price).

There are so many different styles that you’re bound to fall in love with at least one pair and the good thing about it at the moment is that you can buy one pair and get another pair FREE!** Unfortunately, the frame I have is no longer available but they do have similar options here and here. My lenses are also prescription and have anti-glare on them so that lights, computer screens etc reflect off them and it won’t show up in photos or put strain on my eyes. Including shipping the total of mine (including anti-glare and prescription lenses, case, soft pouch, cleaning cloth and mini screwdriver) was under £30!* You won’t find a store selling glasses suited for you that cheap!

I can’t fault these glasses, even though they’re made of plastic, they are really sturdy and because they are delivered with a mini screwdriver, it means you can tighten or loosen them if needs be. The anti-glare lens is fab especially as I spend a lot of time on my laptop or staring at a till screen at work! The case that comes with it is also really sturdy and I don’t have to worry about them being broken when they’re in amongst the heap of things buried in my handbag!

If you’re looking for a new pair of specs or fancy a change, be sure to get your free pair here

The Library of Fragrance

Inspired by real life scents, The Library of Fragrance* is a collection of all of your favourite smells but in a bottle! Being established for just under 20 years has given the creators plenty of time to come up with these fabulous scents that we all know and love and I have to say, I love the whole idea around it. Each bottle can be worn alone or teamed with another scent - things that you’d normally have together to get a gorgeous smell like Apple Pie and Vanilla Ice Cream and more unusual scents like Rain and Fireplace. They’re all a little odd but thats what I love about them!

The collection has some super strange scents (Sawdust, Playdoh, Tomato to name a few) but some gorgeous ones too (Sunshine, Orange Blossom and Gingerbread) and a few limited edition Christmas Scents are now available at Boots! To help you create your own Library of Fragrance, you can currently buy 2 for £25.00 at Boots or they are £15.00 each.

I managed to get my hands on a few; Vanilla Ice Cream, Peach, Marshmallow and Fireplace. Fireplace and Marshmallow work together so well but not so much alone, although Marshmallow is super sweet and a perfect room spray. Vanilla Ice Cream and Peach are both really sweet smells and again, work really well together. I’ve found that you have to give them time to settle too or else to smell can be a little overpowering! The packaging is super simple but chic, the square glass bottles means they store well and aren’t bulky like some other fragrances I own!

I love these fragrances and I’d love to get my hands on some more unusual scents. What scent would you go for if you could choose one or two? Available here

Revlon Choco-Liscious Lipstick

When it comes to dark lipsticks, I have to admit that I’m a bit of a sucker. That dark, vampy look that it gives it just gorgeous and anyone can pull it off. Pale skin? Darken your eyes and those lips will pop right out. Tanned? Compliments it perfectly (in my opinion anyways). I’ve been on the lookout for a brown lipstick for a while now, I can always remember my Mum wearing an Este è Lauder one when I was younger and she always looked so pretty, so when I found this little beauty in Boots, it went straight into my basket.

Revlon have such a good collection of lip products and I’m a lover of their Matte Balms but I was a Revlon Lipstick virgin until about 2 weeks ago. The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick range cover pinks to nudes to this gorgeous deep brown ‘Choco-Liscious’. It isn’t completely Matte but it’s not too shimmery that you loose the colour when you apply it to your lips. It’s super pigmented though and has a build able colour so if you want to go quite dark, you can go over two or three times. The other thing I find is that it leaves a residue if you eat or drink, something I noticed whilst at work. But other than this, it’s perfect!

The chic black and gold packaging makes it look a lot more expensive than £7.49 and although you can’t see it properly, the lid is see-through so there’s no rummaging around and opening the lid to see what colour it is - you can see it pretty clearly!

I’ll definitely be picking up another few shades, maybe some more pinks or another Brown - i’ll let you know! Have you tried these lipsticks before? If not, head over to Boots now and pick yourself one up as it’s 3 for 2 across Revlon Cosmetics!

Autumn Makeup Looks Collaboration

There are so many varied Autumnal looks that can be worn including Berry lips, minimal eye makeup and a bold lip, dark eyes and a nude lip... The list goes on. For some people, seasonal change means a makeup change but for me, I wear whatever makeup I want, whatever the season. Dark lips for autumn/winter just seem to go with the general mood; dull dark mornings and lots of dark clothes.

I have collaborated with the lovely Katie from Sugarfixx Beauty to bring you two different Autumn looks, looks that we’ve both been wearing quite regularly and feel are both ‘acceptable’ for Autumn. Do you mix up your makeup for the seasons or do you just stick to what you love? I don’t see what’s wrong with either to be honest and if you want to rock a bold lip and bold eyes, you do just that!

I have used my beloved Naked 3 palette and the colour Buzz all over my lid with Makeup Revolutions Aqua Seal Primer and Eye Dust in Frolic on the inner corners of my eye and then finished off with Factory from the Naked 3 palette in the creases. I love a glowy, bronzed look so I made sure that I used plenty of contour/highlight to ensure that it stood out and chipped into the right places of my face. For a list of all products used, please see below images.

Katie went for a darker look, a gorgeous Berry and a glam eye by using the Charlotte Tilbury Vintage Vamp palette. You can see her completed look over on her blog but here’s some sneak peeks...

Products I used were:
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
Vichy Dermablend Corrector
Maybelline Eye Eraser Concealer
Max Factor Skin Luminizer

Millie OOTD #3

Autumn is well and truly here and we finally got Millie some cute little wellie boots! These were £4.00 from Primark and although they’re still a little bit on her, an extra pair of socks and having them tucked into jeans or leggings helps to bulk them out a little! We have so many woodlands around us to walk through and get muddy in that I really wanted to get her some for winter!

We also managed to get her a cute little parka too this was only £16.00 from TU at Sainsburys and we’re matching when I wear my fur lined parka from Topshop that I bought last year! Today, we went to feed the ducks down at one of the ponds near our local park but got swarmed by geese so it was a chuck and run sort of thing!

Let me know if you’ve popped a Style Baby post up!

Kate Moss Lipsticks Set

If you’re a lover of the Kate Moss lipsticks from Rimmel, you may be slightly envious of me and how I managed to get my hands on this fabulous set when I was on holiday! For only £12.00 you get 4 of the best selling colours from the Kate collection, 01 03 05 and 08 - 2 Nudes, a Pink and the ever glamourous signature Red - all full size too! I must make you aware that this set may only be available on Thomas Cook Airlines as I’ve never seen them in shops!

It’s not much of a review post although the pigmentation in all of them is AMAZING but it’s more of a ‘haha, look what I got and you didn’t’ kind of post...

Kate Moss Lipsticks

Kate Moss Lipstick 1, 3, 5, 8

I love all of these colours although Number 3 is a little too plain for me and doesn’t give off enough colour but on days that I don’t want that huge pop of colour then it’ll be one that I reach for, just like my beloved Honeylove from MAC.

I’d love to know which 4 colours you’d box together in a set like this and would you want this to be available in the UK all the time!?

Millie OOTD #2

I must apologise for the photos on this weeks #StyleBaby - she just didn’t want to pose and was too busy feeding the animals down at Beehive Farm in Rosliston. We had a lovely morning, fed the animals and had a little stroll around the Woodland too but the weather turned and we headed home before we got soaked! There’s so much around us to do outdoors but if the weathers crap like it has been, there’s not a fat lot to do but we made the most of our day together and went home to do some baking and read lots of books!
