Weightloss Wednesday: Update

So a few weeks back, I explained my reasons for jumping back on the ‘Weight-loss Wednesdays’ series but if you didn’t see it, you can read here. Today, it has been 11 days since I started exercising and thought I’d post a few update photos and let you all in on the things that have been aiding my weight-loss journey. 

To start with, I’ve been using apps on my phone to help me along and give me a bit of a boost so My Fitness Pal has been my best friend over the last 2 weeks. You jot down what weight loss you want to achieve, pop in your personal goals and it identifies a target calorie consumption that you should aim to achieve to get your desired results. It is quite hard to keep up with but it’s definitely worth while if you’re one to loose track of what you’ve been eating! 


The other app that I have been LOVING is the 30 day Challenges app. I have been doing 2 of the challenges - Beach body and Ab & Squat challenge - and I actually look forward to doing them! You have a range of 2 or 3 exercises which can range from squats, sit ups, planks etc and a number of reps to perform for each. As the days go on, the reps go up and the exercises get harder. You may need to split the reps up into sets of 20 or 30 depending on what exercise it is that you’re doing but it’s aimed to get you looking/feeling fitter in 30 days! 


I have also been trying to do as much of the Couch to 5K as possible but haven’t been able to do much this week so I’ve tried to go and have a walk with Millie instead or just do 20 minutes on the treadmill at a steady pace. Low speed for longer periods is the most effective exercise for burning fat so this is my priority right now! 

I can already see a slight difference in my abs as the definition is showing in my obliques from the crunches and sit ups that I have been doing and you can see the slight definition appearing in my stomach and the fact my ‘Mummy tummy’ is decreasing ever so slightly. One thing I wish I had done was pictures of my bum/thighs as I have been doing 25+ squats daily and can really feel the difference. I may try and take some later today and update them in 2 weeks time!
