Now I’m finally able to sit down and write up some blog posts, it dawned on me that I’d never written a post to explain how me & my Boyfriend, Adam, got together and the whole story behind us both! Today, I will sharing that very story - grab a cuppa though... It may be a long one!
So, we actually ‘met’ through Twitter! I had spotted a tweet of his and thought he was a person that I’d previously spoke to a few years back about a car. Turns out, weirdly, that he was selling the same car I was looking to buy (a saxo) and also lived in Brum at the time but it turned out that it was the wrong area of Brum and so it couldn’t have been him but it lead to us talking/tweeting more often and realised we had mutual friends.
We often tweeted each other and one thing lead to another I guess, we met up a few times, had coffee etc and it kind of went from there. We did have a bit of a rocky start though, I was a bitch and was seeing someone else at the time and because we had become such good friends, I didn’t think I wanted it to turn into a relationship... Adam was an absolute gentleman through the whole time I was messing him about! He even came to pick me and my very drunk friends up from Gay Pride, stashed a stolen GateCrasher billboard in his boot and took us all home - when we weren’t even speaking due to a huge fall out! The time came then for me to go to university and after being there just 2 weeks, I realised that I did want a relationship and we officially got together on 26th September 2011. I knew I loved him, I think I was just denying it all along!
So as the majority of the first year together was spent traveling home from Twickenham to Birmingham or Adam driving down to Twickenham on Friday nights and coming to stay in my poxy little uni room, it was nice when the summer came because we would actually be able to spend quality time together in the flat! We went on holiday, went to Festivals and I had booked for us to go to Ibiza at the start of September for Adams birthday. On the 30th August, I found out I was pregnant. I was due to start my second year of university on the 4th September so this shuck things up a bit. With a lot of discussion, lots of tears and a little help from my parents, I decided that I was going to drop out of university and have a baby! I had been living at the flat through the summer pretty much so it wasn’t a huge change but the fact that I couldn’t go back to university was what killed me the most!
We got through the pregnancy, the horrific birth, the sleepless nights and the first year of Millie’s life together. We’re a team, a complete unit now and I honestly couldn’t see my life without him! He is definitely the best thing that’s happened to me, my best friend, lover and complete rock! I just hope he feels the same ;)
Have you shared a post like this? I’d love to read it and get to know you all a little better!
