OOTD: Sick

A day of shopping with my Mom yesterday resulted in me needing to be comfortable so this called for a T-shirt & Leggings day!

Now, I know I probably live in leggings at the moment but for any fellow mommy-to-be's, you will understand how much of a lifesaver this piece of clothing is! Easy to pair up with a t-shirt or jumper and comfy enough to wear all day long!

Leggings - H&M Maternity
SICK T-shirt - Topshop
Trainers - Footlocker
Jacket - Missguided
Bracelets - Pandora & Primark
Watch - River Island
Earrings - Topshop

The day was a success resulting in a new travel system for the little one when she arrives, bits and bobs like changing stuff etc and also some toiletry essentials that we had run out of. I love shopping with my Mum, she's so clueless when it comes to beauty but she knows her stuff when it comes to baby!

Do you have a 'comfy' outfit for days like this!?

Herbal Essences Hair Mask Review

I'm not the one to spend a lot of money on hair products as I am prone to greasy hair (how annoying) and find that a lot of conditioners and shampoo's speed this process up, however ... Since ombre-ing my hair in October, it has needed a little more TLC than normal. I went in search for a hair mask that would re-store its glossiness and shine but not make my roots greasy & came across the Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends 'Split ends' Protective Mask for just £1.85! Seeing it was for split ends, I thought it'd be perfect for my ombre'd ends so popped it into my basket.

Along with this, I saw the Deep Nourishing Mask and for the same price I thought it may be worth a try for a deeper treatment for my whole head every so often.

Now I have used both I can give my true opinion and for anyone that has the same problems with their hair as me ... they're brilliant!

The split end mask is fab for my ombre'd ends and I use this once a week, leaving on for a good 15 minutes while I have a soak in the bath. I wash my hair like normal (using Loreal Elive) and then apply a good glug of this to the ends of my hair - clip it up and leave it on. I do try and wash it out with clean water too, just so my hair is clean rather than using bath water! It smells really good and although it's a bit like putty, the texture of it is just a thick conditioner, it's just in a pot rather than a bottle! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with ombre'd ends or even anyone prone to split ends like I am too!

The intensive mask does it's job but because I only use this once every 2 or 3 weeks, I don't have as much to say on it but I have found that it leaves my hair a little greasy the day after - once I wash it again and don't use a conditioner, it's fine! It brings your hair back to life without the use of any products and I feel happy knowing i've restored it's texture once I use this. I use the same sort of method, leave it on for 10-15 minutes then wash off with clean water! Perfect!

If you want to get your hands on these bad boys or just want to have a browse, I got mine from here!

Most worn ... Shoes!

During December & January it has been a definite winter season - especially the last few weeks when we were hit by snow! It wasn't the time for heels or dolly shoes (although I did rock a pair of heels for Christmas day & my birthday) so my most worn shoes of the last few months have been a pair of H&M ankle boots & my trust Nike air max!

Nike Air Max 90's - Footlocker

Black Leather / Suede style Ankle boots - H&M

They may not be your first pick of shoes for everyday wear but they both seem to go with so many outfits at the moment and they are both SO comfortable... even though I can't seem to walk around when i'm out as much as I used to, I find that both of these shoes can last me a good few hours before I have the urge to throw them off my feet!

Doubled with leggings, a dress, tights, joggers - anything you feel like wearing ... these bad boys seem to do the job just fine!

What shoes have you been wearing most this winter?!

OOTN: Grey Camo

I may be 6 months pregnant but I don't see that as an excuse to dress terribly. I see so many expectant girls dressing in baggy tops or tops that DONT FIT & I couldn't think of anything worse! Although maternity wear isn't the nicest, shops like Topshop, Newlook & ASOS have some good styles in and normally go with the recent fashion but just made for mummy-to-be's!

I am lucky enough (at the moment) to still be able to fit into a lot of my 'normal' clothes still, some needing a minor adjustment to either position or it needs an extra layer above or below, just to hold things in still.

Here's what I wore on my last night out ...

No7 ‘Beautiful Skin’ Facial Cleanser Review

We all have our own daily skincare routine and mine changes frequently but consists of the same sort of things; cleanse, tone & moisturse. When I first heard of the electronic facial cleansers I thought it was a fab idea – until I saw the price of Clarasonics!! I went into Boots the other day to have a browse at some No7 stuff as I had a £5 off voucher and for No7 products, that’s a good 50% off the RRP at least!
They have recently bought out their own Facial Cleanser in the ‘Beautiful Skin’ range which is RRP’d at £24,99 but is on offer until Mid-February for just £15. Now, this is the cheapest, higher named Facial cleanser I have seen – and although it’s battery powered, I thought it would be a good investment. N07 also have a 3 for 2 promotion on as well at the moment so…. £15 for the cleanser, and 3 for 2 on products, I picked up a Beautiful Skin Purifying Exfoliator and Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser too – using the £5 voucher, A total that should have been nearly £40.00 I got for just £19.00! Couldn’t have been happier!

Like I said, it is a battery powered cleanser so I wasn’t expecting anything powerful but I was shocked when I used it for the first time. It has 2 speeds and the slower one is enough for me. It tingles your skin the first time you use it – which I guess is a good sign … and afterwards your skin feels soooooo smooth!
Step 1: Remove eye make-up & any foundation / powder with facial wipes and wet face with warm water.

Step 2: Exfoliate (twice a week) using No7 Purifying exfoliator. Wash off excess.

Step 3: Apply No7 Foaming cleanser and blend in - then use electric cleanser in circular motions to blend in cleanser for about 30 seconds on each part of the 'T' section.
Step 4: Wash face with warm water, pat dry with towel & apply No7 night (or day) cream to face.
Aaaaand, Ta dah! All done! I have only just started using No7 products but my skin seems to agree with it all and I will continue to use them from now on …
Keep an eye out for offers in Boots too – these £5 off vouchers are rare but extremely worth while!

Selfridges Haul

Trying to spend a voucher on stuff you know you want to try but just can’t decide on exactly what to get!? Yep, I had that problem. My uncle bought me a Selfridges Giftcard for Christmas & initially I wanted to try out some MAC products – but the failed attempt of looking at the MAC counter in Selfridges left me still wondering what I should try out.
So, after numerous visits to their website, I decided to get some sort of make-up that was a little cheaper & could get more of (for the time being) and then later in the year, take a trip back to the MAC counter and try their Studio range.

Lip liner – Fearless £5.00 – The pigmentation on this lip liner is incredible. I only have one other lipliner and its for a shade of lipstick that I don’t really wear much of. Because (hopefully) spring is coming up, i’m taking myself away from the dark vampy reds and onto the pinks and corals to lighten my face. I’m hoping this will help with no only the colour but also the length of time the colour lasts on my lips.

Lipstick – Ohh La la £8.00 – Brilliant colour pigmentation for a lipstick and when I wore it, it didn’t seem to dry out my lips. I love lipstick but the thing I find most annoying with most is that I have to really moisturise my lips beforehand else they go all chapped and flaky, eugh. Top marks for this one though, can’t wait to get my wear out of it!

Eyeshadow palette – Lost in Time £16.00 – This has been a palette i’ve had my eyes on for a while now. I did want one for christmas but Santa must have forgot, So, when I spotted it, it was first in my basket! All shades are useable which is what I look for most when buying an eyeshadow palette. Normally you get at least one colour you know you’re never going to use but with this one, i’m excited to use them all!

Nail polish – Amethyst £6.00 - Everyone loves a metallic nail-polish and when its a two/toney kinda colour like this, who could refuse! Again, i’m a bit of a sucker for nail polish and although it only ever seems to last a day on my nails before getting chipped, I think this will be up there with my favourite colours!

Listography journal £11.99 – Now, if you’re thinking ‘what the hell is Listography?!” its basically a ready set journal made out of lists for you to complete. Things such as ‘places you’ve visited’ ‘famous people you’ve met’ etc etc … I guess you could call it a reminder book for all the things you seem to forget and that aren’t really worth remembering until someone asks you a completely random question. It’s definitely a keep-sake book and one to keep on show so when people come round, they spot it and want to read it! A definite if you’re a list making fanatic like me – something to pass some time on a rainy (or snowy) day!

January so far...

Its a new year and everyone has been making their ‘resolultions’ to stick to in 2013 … No doubt most of these revolve around loosing weight, stopping smoking, drinking less etc etc and they all get thrown out the window in February after a month of ‘doing their best’. I’m not really one to make resolutions and especially this year .. I have more to think about other than a silly pact I make with myself.
One thing I do want to try and do though is see my friends more. Its hard when most of them work or are at college and finding the time to see them all is harder than it sounds but I am going to try and see them more before my life turns upside down in April…
Here’s a quick sneak peak at what happened in January 2013 …
I want to try and document my doings a bit more this year so I have more photos to look back on at the end!
