Happy Birthday To Me!

No beauty post from me today, just a little note to let you all know it’s my birthday!

I’ll be spending it with my family, eating birthday cake and going out for food! Look out for a post on what I got later this week!

Teeny Sale Haul

I went shopping today in the hope of grabbing myself a few bargains! I picked a terrible place to go though as Tamworth's Ventura Park gets ridiculously busy at weekends and the shops don’t seem to stock the best selection of items! There is a Boots that never really seem to have any of the good stuff in, a H&M which is relatively new, an Outfit that never has my size in things, a River Island which is the only good shop for me, a Next, New Look, Matalan and a few more retail shops and supermarkets.

Luckily today, we were quite early so managed to get a proper look into the stores and I managed to bag myself a few bargains!

Origins Merry Moisturisers Giftset - Boots was £29.00 now £19.66
Soap and Glory ‘Some like it Hot’ Body Scrub - Boots was £8.00 now £4.00
Angel Print Over sized T-Shirt - River Island was £22.00 now £12.00
Roman Numerals Silk Printed Over sized T-Shirt - River Island was £20.00 now £10.00
Bear Printed Over sized Silk T-Shirt - River Island was £20.00 now £10.00
Lime Green Midi Skirt - River Island was £20.00 now £5.00
Black Pleat Maxi Skirt - New Look was £14.99 now £8.00
Cream Pleat Maxi skirt - New Look was £14.99 now £6.00

All the T-shirts from River Island are 2 sizes bigger than I would normally have chosen but because they’re oversized, I don’t really think it’s too big of a deal and they don’t look that big anyway! With a pair of leggings and leather jacket, I think they’re the perfect comfy day combo!

Have you picked up any bargains in the sale yet!?

Christmas Day 2013

It’s all over for another year but I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and spent time with family and friends, giving and receiving lots of lovely gifts!
It was our First Christmas as a family of 3 and we all had such a fabulous day! We spent the morning over at Adams’ parents house and then the afternoon at my Grandma’s with my family! There were 12 of us all together for dinner and tea so it was a day full of food! We were all spoilt rotten, especially Millie so thank you to everyone who was generous to buy us gifts!
Here’s a little peek into what we got up to…

Dress - Ark Clothing
Millie’s ELF suit - Mothercare
Millie’s Santa Suit - Tesco F&F
Adam Shirt - Burton
I was super spoilt and got pretty much everything I asked for! My main presents off Adam were a Gold Casio Watch, A Pandora Charm from Millie and a Fiorelli Belinda Grab Bag off my Parents. We were all given money from my Grandparents too which was a ridiculous amount so i’ll keep that personal but thank you all ever so much! I am so grateful to have received everything I did! And to my Secret Santa - thank you! I loved the gifts and the Yankee Tarts are my favourites!

What did you get up to on Christmas Day!? I’d love to know what you got!

Merry Christmas!

Just a quick note today to say that I hope you all have a lovely day, that you all got what you wanted but not to forget those who aren’t as fortunate as us or can’t be with their loved ones today.

Birthday Wish list

So it may only be Christmas Eve but it’s my birthday on Sunday so it’s a perfect excuse to get my wish list up! There are only a few things I really want for my Birthday - I already have some trainers that Adam has bought me so as for the rest, i’ll buy it in the sales with any money I get for my birthday!

Untitled #36

Soap and Glory Bath/Shower Products - I already have a few but I really want to try Sugar Crush, Foamous and Pulp Fiction and rather than buying the gift sets, i’d rather buy them individually.

Paul & Joe Paisley Make-up Bag - after finding out that the file type bag has been discontinued, this little bag with a brush holder insert is the next best thing! I really need a make-up bag that can hold little bits when I nip out and this one seems perfect!

2014 Diary - Even though I use the calendar on my phone/computer, I feel like I need one manually that I can jot people’s birthday’s in, events etc so this one from Paperchase would do the job! I love flamingos too!

Ted Baker Make-up Bag - Even though I have the Paul & Joe bag on here, I really love the Ted Baker ones and they’re perfect for travelling with! They look so pretty!

Filofax Compact - If I can find one that I like, like this one, for a reasonable price, i’d love to get a filofax rather than a diary! They’re so quirky and cool and i’d love for one to live in my handbag!

Chanel Lipstick - What girl wouldn’t want a Chanel lipstick for their birthday!? I’ve been wanting one for AGES now so lets see what happens…

So that’s what i’m asking for this year! I can’t believe i’ll be 24 in 5 days!

Merry Christmas!

Sleek Blush by 3: Flame

I’m really loving blushers at the moment and another one of my favourites comes from the much adored Sleek Make-Up. Their Blush by 3’s are fantastic value for money and the pigmentation on them is amazing! For £9.99 you get 3 blush, one is normally more a highlighter than a blush and then two darker shades.
Flame is more of a Red style set and is gorgeous on the skin to give a glow/instant blushed effect. I tend to use the highlighter and the brighter red/orange colour and it gives the perfect blush for the apples of my cheeks and then use a ore browner blush to do my contouring.

You can see from the swatch how pigmented each of the blushers are and you really don’t need to apply a lot either - you may end up looking constantly embarrassed if you do! I reach for this palette on days that I have a natural eye to give my skin a little more ompf and drama and along with a neutral or red lip, it looks perfect for the party season!
You can buy Sleek’s Blush by 3 here or in selected Superdrug and Boots stores for £9.99

Sunday Summary

So, 22 days into Blogmas and the 4th Sunday of Advent, let me tell you a little about what’s happened this week…

Monday I had an interview back in my home town so after a really bad night with Millie, I dropped her off at my Mums, did a little bit of shopping and then went to my interview. I then went and took Christmas presents to Heather and her little one who is now 4 weeks old!

Tuesday I had a bit of a lazy day which I hoped would allow me to get some uni work done but that never happened. I got a new chest of drawers for the bedroom so I spent most of the day putting these up and then playing with Millie.

Wednesday I got called back in for a 2nd interview so I dropped Millie off at my Mum and Dads again and went there and then spent a little bit of time at my parents house as they were wrapping presents! It was pretty special seeing behind the scenes of all my Christmases!

Thursday Was boring again. Just chilled out, sorted some final bits in the bedroom which is now completely finished - thank god and just had a comfy day watching Christmas films with Millie.

Friday Unless we have the car, we don’t really do much and this week Adam had to have the car so we took advantage of not having to do anything. I managed to get my hair washed - I say ‘managed’ because it takes about 2 hours to shower and wash it, then comb it and dry it and straighten it and with a baby, it’s pretty impossible to do the first two! We then went to the doctors because Millie has some nasty nappy rash so needed a stronger cream for it and then I had a night in alone watching Text Santa drinking port as Adam went out.

Saturday I popped into town early in the morning to go to the bank and pick a little something up for Christmas Day for Adam to enjoy ;) and also managed to get myself a black fluffy jumper (which Adam bought me due to coming in absolutely hammered Friday night and failing to find the bedroom door 3 times to go to the toilet…)

Sunday Today we’re off for Lunch and are having a good clean up of the flat so it’s all neat and tidy for Christmas and the chaos and mess that’s going to bring!

I’ve been drinking a lot of tea, listening to a lot of Christmas songs and eating lots of Chocolate this week. Tis the season and all that…

What have you done this week!?

MAC Divine Night MSF

I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a deep MSF for a while so when I headed over to Birmingham for the Lush Book Launch night, it was my perfect chance to pick the right one up!
I’m always a little funny about going into the Selfirdges MAC counter as when it’s busy, it’s been known that I’ve been completely ignored by the staff there but on this occasion, I was greeted the moment I walked in as it was nearly closing time and there were no other customers in. A lovely gentleman helped me pick the right shade for me along with 2 other eyeshadows which i’ll be reviewing soon and informed me that for what I wanted, the Divine Night MSF is the best one to get!
With 3 shades: Centre of attention, Perfectly Poised and Scene to be seen there is something for all skin types but I wanted more of a bronzer than a highlighter or a blush, so Perfectly Poised was perfect!

I love the colour pigmentation this MSF gives! You don’t need a heavy cover of it to see that you have it on but if you swirl it around and combine the two shades, you have the perfect bronzed look without seeming too orange or fake looking! I use the lighter colour as a brow highlight too and it works perfectly! I really want to try one of the other MSF’s from the Divine Night collection so think i’ll be making a cheeky MAC purchase just after christmas!
MAC MSF is available online but currently sold out in this shade or in MAC stores for £24.00
Have you tried any of the Divine Night Mineralise Skin Finishes?!
